You spend a LOT of time in your bathroom.

It’s the room where you prepare for your day, whether you’re doing your make up or brushing your teeth.

It’s where you shower and wash your hair.

And most importantly, it’s the relaxing place you turn to for a long candlelit bath and a good book.

As you can see, the bathroom gets its fair share of use, so you’ll want to make sure it’s in the best condition it can possibly be. Read on to discover five signs that your bathroom is in urgent need of a revamp.

You constantly have to pay repair costs

There are a lot of things that can go wrong in a bathroom, whether it be a leaky pipe or a clogged toilet but when they do there are few issues that can go ignored.

Constantly repairing your old bathroom may seem like a cheaper initial solution to your problems, however, if you are spending a lot of money on repairs over the year then it may be time to consider forking out for an entire revamp. Not only will this save you money in the long run, but it can also be a chance to upgrade some of your outdated features for more modern, efficient ones.

For example, if you are still using grout in your walls it could be time to consider swapping this out for some stylish, waterproof wall panels. This will ensure that your bathroom is visually appealing, and reduce the risk of mould and damp damaging your bathroom.

You have broken fixtures

Your bathroom fixtures play a huge role in your bathroom’s overall design. Broken fixtures stand out immediately and reduce the overall appearance and functionality of your room.

Once your bathroom fixtures are damaged, it is a tell-tale sign that your bathroom is in urgent need of rejuvenation.

There’s water everywhere

If there is constantly more water on your bathroom floor than there is in the bathtub, this is quite an obvious sign that action is needed.

When there are persistent plumbing issues in your room, it may call for an entire overhaul. Due to the enormous nature of this bathroom repair, this can be used as the perfect excuse for you to get a brand-new bathroom design and remodel it into the room of your dreams.

Your features are old-fashioned

An outdated bathroom, while still technically functional, can be just as unappealing as one that is in a state of disrepair.

If you’re still living with an avocado bath suite, it may be in your best interests to update your bathroom and give it a more modern look. Not only will this improve the room for you and your guests; but will also improve the value of your home in case you choose to sell it later.

There’s damp and stains everywhere

This is the main sign that your bathroom needs a good spring clean.

However, if your grout and tiles have been left untouched for too long, it may be an incredibly difficult task. In this case it may just be worth replacing your tiles with wall cladding which is much more resistant to damp and stains and will require far less upkeep.
